According to legend, kasuri, the uniquely Japanese form of ikat, was invented in 1799 by Inoue Den, the twelve-year-old daughter of an impoverished Japanese farmer. NUNO’s tribute to this very creative little girl, “Jacquard Kasuri” is woven on traditional obi looms from long-fibered Merino wool for the ultimate in soft, gentle warmth.
